| The Lakeland Terrier
The Lakeland Terrier is a small to medium size dog that comes from the Lake District of the northwestern part of England. The males typically weigh about 16 _ pounds when fully grown; and the females typically weigh about 15 _ pounds when fully grown. This breed of terrier reaches about 14 1/2 inches in height for a fully grown dog.
The coat of a Lakeland Terrier can be almost any coloring including wheaten, liver, red, blue, or black. Combinations of blue and tan or black and tan are also quite common with this breed of dog.
The coat is dense and harsh in appearance. Grooming this breed of dog is neither simple and easy task nor difficult and time consuming. Since his coat is rather thick, it might be wise to have him professionally trimmed on occasion.
He is square-built type of dog and has the ability to cover difficult or rough terrain with his sturdy legs. It follows that he is an agile dog who enjoys exercise.
Additionally, the Lakeland Terrier likes people and responds well to them. The Lakeland Terrier is friendly and agreeable. Therefore, he makes a wonderful companion who enjoys joining in on the fun of family outings and activities.
