| How to Throw Your Pet a Birthday Party
Is your pet a part of the family? Do you consider your pet one of your children or your best friend? Then why not celebrate their special day? Throwing your pet a small birthday party will be fun for both of you. It will also show your pet just how much you love them.
Who to Invite: You can either choose to have a personal party for your pet or invite other pets. Invite other pets that get along with your pet. If you are not sure if your pet would get along with your best friend’s pet, arrange a pre-party meeting. It is better to find out early if they do not get along, rather than having the whole party be a disaster. Keep the guest list small and make sure the owners know that they need to attend as well. It is best to keep the guest list same pet orientated. This means cats with cats and dogs with dogs. This will eliminate any fighting. Also, if any pet is not spayed/neutered, it may also be best to keep the party same gender orientated.
Where to Have It: Where you hold the party depends on the guests. Usually hyperactive dogs would do better outside. You can throw your dog a party in your backyard or at the local park. For cats or smaller animals, you may want to hold it inside of your house.
What to Eat: There has been an increasing growth of pet bakeries. You can now order cakes and cookies that are safe for pets to eat. You can also make your own goodies. Just make sure all the ingredients are pet friendly. Since you do not want the pets to get sick from too many goodies, set out water dishes and healthy vegetables they can munch on. For your human guests, you can offer pet related snacks. For example, you could offer finger tuna sandwiches for your cat’s party or hot dogs for your dog’s party.
What to Do: Get both human and pet guests involved in fun activities. A fun party game idea is to set up an obstacle course and see which human-pet team goes through it the fastest. You can also just let the pets run wild as the humans talk. Also, do not forget to take several pictures of all your guests. They will be great memory reminders in years to come.
If you want to have fun with your pet and other pet owners, throwing your pet a birthday party is a great idea. This party idea can be customized to fit any pet and personality. As your guests leave, do not forget to give them goodie bags of treats and pet accessories.
