Dog Breed: The Springer Spaniel The original English Springer Spaniel is one of the oldest modern dog breeds on Earth. Accurate historical records are scarce, but paintings of the dogs created in the early 1600’s still exist and scholars believe that the dogs originated no later than the mid-to late 1500’s.
