In the past, dogs were often used in war. During the Middle Ages, dogs were sent into battle against knights carrying spikes and pots of sulphur while wearing armour. The Russians used dogs for suicide missions during World War II, strapping mines on their backs and sending them near German tanks. Dogs have been far from worthless throughout the years.
