Many breeds of cat are known for their unique coats, and the Devon Rex is certainly no exception. By far the best known feature of this unique breed is its beautiful curly coat. In addition, this beautiful feline sports large ears, bright curious eyes and an intelligent and curious demeanor.
The Devon Rex is a medium sized cat, with the adults averaging between six and nine pounds. As with many breeds of cat, the males tend to be heavier and larger than the females. No matter what the sex, however, the breed tends to have a curious and pixie-like appearance, as well as a friendly nature. In fact, the Devon Rex loves to be underfoot, and it loves to be in on the day to day life of its human family.
Devon Rexes are also well known heat seekers, and they love to find the warmest spot in the house to curl up and take a well deserved nap. Whether that warm spot is located in a south facing windowsill, on top of the computer or under the covers, the Devon can likely be found there.
When not curled up in a warm spot, the Devon Rex will no doubt be busy tearing through the house in search of fun and mischief. In fact the breed is well known for their high activity level, and they can maintain their kitten-like qualities and playful nature well into their old age. If you are looking for an entertaining and playful feline companion, the Devon Rex just may be the best choice.
